Another SADiE feature. You can set up the software as a normal feature to always have the feature of select everything to the right, left, both or none. IE, if i click on track 3 and i want to move it up to insert another track all of the tracks move up. I know this function is in 5.1 but you have to activate it each and every time you want to do this. Having the facility to permanantly turn this function on is essential to me. I want to click on one track and not have to worry about selecting the rest of the tracks and have this feature on all the time.

Finally, why are the arrows the wrong way around on that particular function? preceeding has an arrow to the right -> (which for me is following?) and following has an arrow to the left <- (which to me is preceeding?).

Please use Pyramix terms when you post questions on the forum...
I guess that what you refer to as tracks is actually clips in the timeline?

Coming from a different DAW you can not expect to find the exact same tools in Pyramix and use the exact same workflow as you did on Sadie.
I agree that Pyramix has its flaws and could be more intuitive, and worst of all, is too buggy..

Pyramix does not have the "Slip right" or "Slip left" functionality as in Sadie, but you can achieve the same in several ways.

1.You have already discovered "Clips>Select>Add all following clips to selection" which I find the least effective unless you assign a keyboard shortcut to the command.

2. Activate "Auto Ripple". Select the clip you want to move, press CTRL and click+drag the clip right or left. All following clips and markers will slip.

3. With "Auto Ripple" activated, select the clip you want to move and choose "Clip > Nudge > Nudge to previous Edit" (SHIFT+ALT+Left Arrow).
In Auto-Ripple Mode, the selected clip (and all following clips and markers) will slip left to the nearest clip edge (or marker or cursor).
This is a great way to set the space between CD tracks by ear. Play over the end of a song, stop playback where you want the next song to start, select the next clip, hit SHIFT+ALT+Left Arrow and you're done.

4. Delete, cut and paste with "Auto Ripple" activated slips all following clips and markers.
If "Auto Ripple" is not activated you can still delete, cut and paste with ripple by adding ALT to the standard keyboard shortcuts (i.e. CTRL+ALT+X for cut with ripple).
