Digibeta -> Pyramix

Postby Raphael Mouterde » Fri Aug 30, 2002 19:32

Hi there,

Has anyone any idea about this?

I'd like to transfer a short movie from Digibeta (PAL) to my hard drive where all the soundfiles for that movie are (FX, dialogue...).
This in order to conform the sync sound and start the sound design, slaving the picture to the pyramix EDL.

Should I get the picture as AVI format? What gives the smoothest playback? Any hints on the way I should proceed?

Hi,
I had to tone a live Video from a band, with a 24Multitrack ADAT live cut.
The best I found out is to import the Movie via capture card, e.g. amtrox or something (I did in DV cause the cams were, so you perhaps hav to convert or use a analogue capture card) as an avi. Say abut 3-4MByte/s datarate to not go too high...
Then open VT and load the Direct show player and import the video.
Now it runs in sync and you can easyli do the sound engeniering.

To get it back on Cam I did a mix down to wav, 16bit and rendered the video with the Audio in Ulead Media Studio Pro 6.0. Now you have a Video with perfect sync sound to playback to cam.
best regards

What about using VITC with the beta Cam? This would be much easier and the sync is good...not the timeloss eith the im-and exporting of the video... :roll:
best regards

Why don't you sync your digital Beta player or recorder to Pmx with Tc and VITC ?
