Anubis Talkback mic problem

Dear all,

I ran into a very unpleasant situation, which is not at all documented.
My Hapi/Anubis/Pyramix/Aneman config did NOT change on my mobile recording PC. It always works, the patching is the same.

I had an important recording session yesterday, and no sound from the built-in talkback mic. So, no talkback ...
The ONLY thing I had done after the last session (where everything functioned) was to test two mics in - the standalone - Anubis. Thus I had enabled the two mic preamps (instead of line level).

Now I double checked : if I enable MIC preamp ONE, the built in mic preamp for the talkback is DEAD silent !
The manual states, as does the block diagram, that line input nr4 is shared.

Update : I just discovered that this behaviour ONLY happens when you enable mic pre 1 + BOOST !!!

Can anyone verify and confirm this ?

I made an utter fool of myself, it took 30 minutes to figure this out with 25 musicians waiting. They did a few run-throughs in the meantime. Not good exposure for Merging if you ask me ...

I have found one other user that has exactly the same problem.

A bug is not possible. We have two units. Updated both to the same firmware, plus factory reset. One unit is OK, the other one has the problem.

Something must be broken. Do you also experience more noise on mic2, at high gain, compared to mic1 ?

I confirm this issue here on my Anubis too.
Boost ON in channel 1 makes TB mic silent dead.

Noise is about 4 db more on channel 2
Talkback mute if channel 1 is on boost.

you still running on the previous firmware, try updating

Updated to firmware 1.1.12b45672 and it is exactly the same behavior:
Talkmic mutes by boost on channel 1
Channel 2 has about 6 db higher noise on high gain

Indeed there is more noise on Combo 2 with both (mic 1 and mic 2) on.

I believe merging is aware of this and maybe this month we´ll have a firmware update correcting this problems.

Any release date that you know of ?
The problem i have with the constant high frequency on my talkback mic is very frustrating. I use this mic a lot when recording acoustic instruments (as a room mic) and for streaming purposes. Would be great to see this problem solved.

I have almost the same issue with my Anubis. When I plug a TS cable into IN 4, the talkback mic stops working.

Will this be fixed in the next firmware update?
