Hi,
My computer crashed quite seriously yesterday. Had to recover everything and do a reinstall of Pyramix 7.1
But i can't input MT security Keys. Nothing works, double clicking file with keys, or attaching safenet key. In MT security panel I don't have a windows which I can check to say include key stored on the dongle.
Safenet key definitely works- light up and when I plug-ed in on bootcamp I see that in MT security panel I can have this window check- include the keys stored on dongle.
When I stat MT security panel - it crushes 100% on my laptop.
Any advice would help ASAP!
Thanks

Re: MT Security Settings
I already updated bios, did an update for all windows 7 64 bit. Installed newest updates for Microsoft Frame Works.
Updated graphics, also install senitel driver, interlock driver is installed.
Still Merging Tehcnologies Security Settings installs without an option to enter any keys! There is just not even a box to leave a check mark to save the keys.
I checked that Merging Start security service is running.
I even tried replacing Mt Security panel and STSERv in common file with a version of the same files from another working machine. I run out of options...
Pyramix install broke! Dongle is still working on another machines.
I also have two independent pyramix installs from which machines were installed and they are working fine. So I have a feeling it is windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit problem. However I have no clue where to look to repair it.

hi Zana,
it doesn't sound like you're having fun. how did you install the sentinel driver for the safenet key? i remember reading something here about NOT using windows update to install that driver. have you contacted sonotechnique or Merging support directly (via email)?
good luck!
cheers,

Re: MT Security Settings
I had the same thing happen to me this last weekend, except that I was installing version 8.1.9 and I am running Windows XP Pro SP3 32 bit on a Bootcamped MacBook Pro - so our basic systems are not similar at all.
I had uninstalled version 8.1.8 (Add/Remove Programs), rebooted and then ran a successful install from the 8.1.9 installer. Upon a re-boot and insertion of my Pyramix Dongle (an older, purple HASP dongle), Windows saw new hardware and I sent it searching for the appropriate driver software, which it found and installed successfully - all as expected. Without re-booting, I then opened MT Security Settings and found all the keys blank and no check box to "include Keys stored on HASP Dongle". Nothing I tried could get the program to recognize the key, not a re-boot, nothing.
I restored my system to the condition immediately prior to the 8.1.9 install attempt, from a cloned backup. Version 8.1.8 worked fine and saw both the dongle and all keys. I then installed version 8.1.9 overtop, without first uninstalling the previous version (it is a Hotfix, after all...) - and after all the re-booting and dongle recognition stuff, my keys were not recognized again. Arrgh! I re-booted another time, and suddenly, MT Security Settings was seeing all my keys, and the checkbox for "Include keys..." was present and checked.
I wouldn't be so crass as to suggest that all you need to do is re-boot a whole bunch of times, but this September has been a month of many new software releases, as well as a number of Security updates from Microsoft. I'm wondering if whether one of those is now interfering wiith Merging's MT Security Settings software.
Have you tried running your Pyramix 7.1 installer again, this time in "Repair" mode? What anti-virus are you running? (Microsoft Security Essentials here, although probably not for much longer as it is becoming more and more of a hog, slowing my system down while it runs "MsMpEng.exe" in the background, using up to 50% of my CPU.) Oddly, the same set-up on my iMac shows none of these problems and the update to 8.1.9 proceeded without a hitch. Great, an intermittent bug...

Re: MT Security Settings
I spent a full day trying to solve this problem. It was indeed Microsoft update which really affected the system. I was unfortunately unable to make this MT security panel work.
Even if I have to go back as far as A year ago back up I had, MT security setting still did not work. I was installing only 7.1 or 7.2 version. I don't have version 8.
I am not sure however if I restarted enough. But I tried multiple attempts, installing pyramix, then restarting, then trying entering keys. Doing MT clean up, restarting, installing again.
Finally at 5 am I gave up and now installing completely clean windows. I did multiple windows repairs, and trying to repair is in safe mode.
I had a Microsoft error at some point with system restore, and I believe it was related to the graphics, but I am sure that update was also related to the security services of Pyramix. Because the first error I got on Saturday morning, was that SRSErv could not be started.
Unfortunately I am in the situation when I can't wait too long and loose two more days trying to find out what is the problem. So hopefully completely clean windows install will solve this issue.

Re: MT Security Settings
A completely new reinstall of windows from scratch with complete reinstall of all drivers for the laptop did the things. I have working pyramix again. Well I just did not get, why it did not re-installed normally on my recovered windows image from a year ago. Maybe I was rebooting in wrong order. This is upsetting, because now I really have to reinstall everything. Because it was a clean new windows install.
Charlie - yes it is a lot of fun!
And my dongle worked on other machine, I run pyramix on bootcamp too.
This laptop just for reference was 64 bit Windows system. Pyramix 7.2.
Windows updates were installed on Saturday Sept 21st.
Do not install updates from that week!
There is something wrong with them!

Re: MT Security Settings
And yes I contacted Merging via email, they suggested to do a clean windows install. Which as a last option, I did. Since by that time I already recovered my windows from July2012 image back up which was done 5 days after I bought this laptop and even with that almost clean windows install (basically windows Pro Tools and Skype) Pyramix did not go through authorization process. This is strange, because till Saturday- everything was working just fine.
