Hi,
I'm stuck with the Pyramix installer.
After copying new files, the status bar says : "Install drivers" and then it simply doesn't go anywhere. The green line is 90% to completion of the installation seems to stop.
I can't even cancel or close the installer. The only way out is to reboot the machine.
Before installing I did a complete uninstall of everything Merging and ran the Pyramix Clean Up 1.7 utility.
Windows XP SP2 is running on my Macbook Pro.
Never had a problem with version 5.
Help please !
Best,
Raphael

Re: Problems installing Pyramix 6.2 native
PMX installs drivers that are unverified by Microsoft. This means Windows throws a couple of Genuine Package alerts at you. Unfortunately, these backdrop under the installing dialog (long live Windows!), so all you need to do is move the installing.... away and hit Trust Drivers when it is prompted.
Should do the trick.

Thank you for you're reply.
Unfortunately I saw on the forum somewhere that there might be a problem like that.
I moved the window out of the way, and that Microsoft alert is nowhere to be seen.
Any other ideas ?
Cheers

Sometimes is on the task bar blinking, as the window is minimised, which is easy to miss.

If you have an anti-virus programme running, be sure to turn it off for the Pyramix installation.

No blinking and I don't have any anti-virus software. I only use Pyramix on that partition.
A bubble keeps popping up saying my computer is at risk but I can't see how this could affect the installation process.
I'm starting to think that a complete Windows reinstall and upgrade to SP3 is the only option let

Well problem solved... after a complete reinstallation of Windows.
Why the windows messages never showed up will remain a mystery.

Re: Problems installing Pyramix 6.2 native
Hello,
I also have the same problem. I have tried to update all 3 of my machines to 6.2 without any luck. All machines are running WinXP SP3. I have tried the latest removal tool. Nothing helps, it simply wont install.

Has anyone come up with a solution to this other than reinstalling Windows? I am running into the same problem; the status bar reaches about 90% and gets stuck. It is not the driver installation that is hindering the install.

Installation troubleshooting : http://forum.merging.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6467
-On some specific systems, the installation of the Gear drivers, included in Pyramix installer, can block the installation. This happens right after the installer mention "Installing drivers", the progression bar is stopped for a long time. Access Windows Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+Del) and terminate the process called "DifxIinstall32.exe". The installation process of Pyramix will then continue in one or two minutes. After the complete installation of Pyramix (that also means rebooting your computer) the Gear drivers can be installed manually.
