DiscWrite on MacBook Pro
I've just set myself up with the Native Broadcast (with CD-R support) pack on a Bootcamped MacBook Pro, and on firing up DiscWrite for the first time I get the error message "cannot open CD-R interface. Selected interface type not supported." But there is no interface selected in the target window, and the drop down menu is empty too. Running VS3 - Control Panel - Application - DiscWrite, I've selected "Native DirectSound" as my platform, as I did for the main Pyramix app. The drive in question is a Matshita DVD-R UJ-867. What am I doing wrong??? Please help, producer waiting for the CD's I promised him!

I've looked over my own settings on a late-2007 MBP running Windows XP SP3 under Bootcamp 2.1, and I don't have any of your problems. The only difference I can see between our machines is that mine has the Pioneer drive instead of the Matshita. I have the Music Pack instead of the Broadcast Pack, but if they supply DiskWrite with your package, you'd have to assume that it's supposed to work with the Broadcast configuration. When I launch DiskWrite it comes up with information about the drive in the lowest text field, showing the driver to be the driver to be GEARAspi for NT. Maybe you should have a look in your Device Manager (Control Panel > System; then click on teh "Hardware" tab and you'll see a button to launch the Device Manager). Find the DVD/CD-ROM drives entry in the list and right click on it to get to the Properties. There you'll find information about your device driver, and possibly you should try to either update or reinstall the driver for your particular hardware. When done, restart and try again.
Although you don't mention what you're using, you might also try to set up your audio interface to be Windows default sound hardware in the Sound Control Panel, to see if registering it there makes any difference to DiskWrite (even though it doesn't really record or play back, DiskWrite seems to want to know about the audio hardware).
If all else fails, you can still make a CD image file from within Pyramix itself, and then take that file, change the file extension from .pmi to .wav, and presto - you've got yourself a 16 bit/44.1 wave file that you can reimport back in to a new Pyramix session, to break it up into separate wave files, that you can then burn to an Audio CD through a variety of means, both on the Windows and on the Mac side. Yes, it's a p.i.t.a., but at least you'll be able to cobble something up for your impatient client.

Re: DiscWrite on MacBook Pro
Many thanks for taking the time to respond. I indeed ended up making the CD by changing the image file extension from PMI to WAV, as you suggest, which is going to be an unacceptably long winded process if it's the only way to do it. I also tried addressing the Windows default sound hardware in the control panel to no avail. Drivers or firmware updates for this DVD/CD drive don't seem to exist - in fact the drive itself isn't even listed on the Matshita web site. As for Merging, this very site boldly claims that 99.99% of drives are supported by discwrite........hmmmmm!
Re: DiscWrite on MacBook Pro
I am using a MBP running Pyramix 6SP2 with DiscWrite with no problems burning (though FireWire is another story). Again, different drive manufacturer though. You might try reinstalling Apple's bootcamp device drivers in Windows and see if it makes a difference. Have you tried burning with any other apps in Windows to check and see if this is a DiscWrite problem or system problem?

Re: DiscWrite on MacBook Pro
I have burnt in other applications, so it seems to be a problem specific to DiscWrite.
Re: DiscWrite on MacBook Pro
Hmm, that is a tough issue. We have had disc burning issues on a Mass Core system as well. We have already replaced the drive once to the recommended LiteOn drive with no luck. Any ideas, Merging?

Re: DiscWrite on MacBook Pro
How can we reinstall only discwrite?
It seems that in 2002, a custom install would do, but I can't seem to be able to pass the first window, since it says that my version of Pyramix is the latest (then it abords...)
Sad because discwrite is starting to not being too happy about that!

Is it not possible for you to run the Pyramix installer, and select "Repair" mode?

I'll try it and get back to you on that... but I don't think it'll do...
