Drag Document library clips to another document library

Postby RickTarrant » Tue Jun 25, 2013 16:19

Now that I'm discovering the power of my document libraries I see that it would be handy if I could grab a clip from one Document library and drag it to another document library folder on the left side of the window.

When I try that now it appears to be making the copy but when I look in the target library it is not there.

So now I have to drag a clip to the timeline and then pull it back over into a new library.

If there is a more elegant solution I'd appreciate hearing about it.

Thanks

Rick

Hi,
with "copy/paste" (right click)
and (I'm not in front)
verify that you "open" the library before pasting and you paste in the right window of the library.
Don't forget to save your differents libraries before closing them.
I like to work with Pyramix because of the libraries.

best regards,

merci beaucoup Bernard.

That should have occurred to me but did not. I'll go try right now.

Hi,
your french is excellent ! thank you so much too !

with the libraries, making new shelves or libraries, you can sort by:
recording days; kind of instruments; arrangements versions; timeline snapshot; mixer settings; effects settings; singer versions; solo sessions, etc, etc, (cross classification)
it's unlimited :)

Best regards,

bernard

Thank goodness for Google translation!

Thanks for the tip on how to use shelves. I had been creating new libraries for organizational purposes but I see that creating a shelf might be more efficient.

In regards to my original complaint... I just tried dragging a clip from one library to another and it works flawlessly. I also tried the copy/paste maneuver but that did not work.

bonne journée

Hi,
to make this, this is the procedure :
you have a project open.
you save it.
you open the default library.
in the right, you can see the list of the things that are in this default library.
you make right click/copy the clip you whant.
you open the library you whant.
you click in the left list to select the default library you whant.
in the right, you can now paste the clip you whant in this library.
Don't forget saving this library. In fact, to avoid crashs, you must have to save the current project (ctrl s) before each operation in a library.
A little "tip" : composition libraries are ONLY for the clips in the timeline of the opened project ! ! ! !

best regards,
Bernard
