I'd like to be able to select multiple clips with ctrl + shift in a group...or in a group and non grouped combined etc...

Hi,
I'm solving the problem by using the shift button and the left mouse button on my grouped or ungrouped clip. BUT press the mouse before pressing the shift button and then you can drag and highlight all desired areas within a grouped clip. Maybe that's what you're looking for.
