External Machine TC Locate History/Markers

Postby andrewwierzan » Wed Jul 28, 2010 12:08

Feature request for Transport window to have the ability to 'remember' the last 3 TC locate points. Perhaps a right click on the 'Goto In' Button which pops up a menu with timecodes on.

Possibly also the ability to have a marker type for 'external machine', so a user could click on the markers list to locate the deck to pre-defined points.

Context is to locate a tape-deck to a commonly used start point (eg 09:59:30:00) in preparation for layback, rather than manually typing in TC locate points every time. Or for shortform (a 3 minute news story every 5 minutes after 10:00:00:00) external machine markers could be a part of the Pyramix template for quick access.

If more elaboration is needed, just ask :)

if you set PMX as master and the external machines as slave, you can use the PMX-Markers as locators. PMX fires Sony-goto's and this works perfect.

I suppose for the locate points, this could work: set up some default 'goto' markers, select the marker and then use a macro for (External Machine: Set Loop In, External Machine: Goto Loop In)

I'd be interested to see how valid the TC locate history is.
