KEY INPUT - SIDE CHAIN

Postby formation audio » Wed May 05, 2010 00:19

I've just bought Pyramix and have made a major assumption that the comprehensive mixer system had a key input on the dynamics – My fault for not checking but this is really missing - How can you mix without a key input? How can you remove snare spill on the hat track, pump the kick to the bass, dip the snare into your guitars bus etc.

Does anyone have any useful work around/s and/or know if this is to be implemented in the near future?

Your help would be appreciated. JP

Hi,
my 2 cents: you can't (IMHO) use a channel to drive dynamics of another channel, but you can use, on a channel, a Pyramix vs3 plugin named "Dynamics" in which you can set the frequency and Q to drive the compressor stage.

cheers

Hi All,

There are 2 awkward workarounds for keying at least. One involves using Waves C1 (or another comp that has an assignable key input from a stereo input) and the other involves some creative routing both offered in this post:
