Better integration for Melodyne

Postby kpilos » Tue Nov 21, 2023 01:58

Hi,

I am trying to use melodyne as an alternative to renovator, to make precise notes lower in volume or alter over all pitch of a note in the whole multitrack recording.

The typical integration of melodyne, where you insert it in the strip and then make melodyne listen what you want to edit, and then edit in the plugin, is not very practical if you want to use melodyne as part of the editing process, where you want to try out different takes on the position that you melodyned one precise audio take.

This is why I would love an integration of melodyne in pyramix, where one could f.ex. just like with renovator, render the region you want to edit, edit the region in the standalone melodyne application, and then reimport the edited multitrack back to pyramix at the right place. This way you would basically generate a version of a specific take, where you just edited the little mistake away, and which you could combine with other takes that don't need melodyne (in the edit stage of a production). Like this, melodyne could basically be "printed" or "frozen" onto the audio, which would remove the problem, of taking a session with you to another place where there is no melodyne, and not being able to listen to the correct edit, because of the missing license.

With melodyne, as with renovator, you can really make acoustical recordings, that are unusable only because of one little mistake or balance issue, usable again. A feature like this would make pyramix even more powerful!

Indeed an ARA integration with Melodyne seems to be essential these days.
