yes I know, this can be attributed as user error, but systems are there to help users. And its easy to forget when you are in a hurry or overload. Plus its not something you always notice, esp. with uncompressed tracks. Anyway, I had to spent a lot of time re-bouncing tracks only because the option for mixing the 'whole composition' would cut my tails off. Some algorithm to follow the envelope would help a lot
Re: Mixdown 'whole composition': include reverb tails
I think that this would most easily be achieved by a simple pre/post roll setting.......
To be honest, all workstations have this problem, I get masters all the time with the tails cut off during mixdown. Especially from Protools. Must be the user base....
All the best,

I always place an end mark listening to the end of the reverb tail.
Yes I've been burned by forgetting this, but there are also cases where I need files to start and end to an exact length, and I'm a little nervous about an automatic postroll.

Don't think I've ever used the Mixdown Whole Composition function - I tend to just place the main left and right markers (or whatever they're called) and mixdown between marks making sure the tail is included - though automatically including any effects tails would make sense!

Well I can honestly say I never considered that, but I don't think that those wedding dresses will affect my mixing.
