automatically increment marker numbers

Postby hanne » Fri Nov 23, 2007 06:43

while recording a session, i put a marker for avery take, so that it's easier to jump back. Doing that, i always had to manually name the markers.

I think it would be a good tool, if there was the option for auto naming markers, similar to auto naming takes, or some kind of auto incrementing marker numbers.
Or is there already a way to do that?

This can be worked around by generating a new playlist for each take, which will give you an accumulating list of takes. However i've seen many people who still prefer to keep all their media in one timeline without playlists and drop markers for each take.

The other use for this is live concert records where the transport cannot be stopped but sequentially numbered markers would be useful.

FWIW, you can alt-doubleclick the media name in media management and it will select and zoom to that clip in the timeline. Repeated alt-dblclicks will continue to locate other instances of that media in the EDL.

Cool!...I didn't know that ALT-Doubleclick thing.

Thanks, Silas.
