Aneman (Mac) vs. Aneman (Windows)—Discrepancies?

Postby mflemi » Sat Apr 24, 2021 01:45

Aneman’s representation of the active devices and stream connections on my LAN is accurate when launched on Windows PCs (both Win 7 and Win 10), but the behavior is consistently inconsistent in the Mac Aneman instances. Hardware, e.g. Anubis, is recognized by Aneman-Mac, but stream connections are not always up to date, and there’s no “refresh network map” to prompt a rescan, unfortunately. In addition, the currently available Aneman for MacOS, downloaded today on a clean Catalina installation, refuses to display the presence of an active Ravenna VAD and connected Pyramix streams between a Win 7 machine and Anubis on the same LAN.

It’s a very simple private-addressing network here with a Cisco 350 switch configured per Ravenna/Merging recommendations, one dual-boot Windows 10/Mac OS PC (Pyramix Native), one additional MacBook Pro (Ravenna VAD) and one Windows 7 PC (Pyramix Native). Audio flows fine in all directions. Despite only one Aneman instance open at a time, the issue is observing the routing from a Mac.

Have you observed any similar behaviors? Any suggestions for reconciling these discrepancies?
“Refresh map” is a feature request I’d recommend for Aneman Mac.

Make sure both Aneman are same version (on PC and MAc) and MAD / VAD drivers are the latest for both systems (OSx and Win) too. Use dynamic IP address for all interfaces an try using the provided merging cisco 350 preset file , available in the confluence page.
Hope it goes well.
