Hey all , I don't know if this has been addressed before so forgive me.
I'm considering upgrading to a Merging converter and was wondering if there was a way to successfully bypass Core Audio on MAC with merging if i'm NOT using pro Tools . I know some persons suggest going the HDX route to achive it but because im in Studio One and not Ptools i don't think i'll fully be able to do it as the other DAWS still use Core Audio to communicate.
I was wondering if the RAVENNA protocol can help achieve this ? just a thought on the way to figuring this out (if its even possible )
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thank you!

Have you used Ravenna on MacOs before? I don't think there is a way to avoid using CoreAudio, is there a specific reason why you want to do that?

Re: Bypassing Core Audio on MAC
Hey , thanks for responding - I recently got a MT48 and used the Ravenna protocol a bit but not sure if it bypasses core audio. On the answer to why , theres a-lot of chatter around coreaudio resampling your audio an additional time - it's why pro tools users use HDX cause it bypasses all that - of course this is my limited knowledge summary on this. When i tried using an external Grim clock with my symphony i heard no difference at all so i suspected that may be part of the reason why.
