Terrific New Book

Postby fl » Sat Oct 17, 2020 16:26

At long last, the new book by Caroline Haigh, John Dunkerley and Mark Rogers, "Classical Recording - A Practical Guide in the Decca Tradition" has been released.

I was approached last year to take a look at a couple of sample chapters while it was still in the final editing stages, and what I saw certainly fueled my interest in getting a copy just as soon as I could and I placed a pre-release order last spring. After what seemed like an endless wait, it arrived this week. So far, it's more than justified my expectations and it's gratifying to see that their DAW of choice is Pyramix (although it only stands to reason), with many screen-shots and detailed information throughout the text.

With all due respect to the abundant audio skills represented by those in this forum, for anyone here who has any interest in the implementation of the Decca Tree technique, or any other methodology used by Decca engineers over the last seventy years, this is the book! I feel that it would be a worthy addition to any audio library along with works by
Jürgen Meyer - https://www.springer.com/gp/book/9780387095165,
John Eargle - https://www.springer.com/gp/book/9781402072307,
or the sadly out of print and therefore exorbitantly priced Michael Dickreiter - https://www.abebooks.com/book-search/ti ... echniques/.
