I have a project coming up where I will receive a madi feed from a broadcaster which I will patch into a Horus. I have never used madi before. Does a wordclock come as part of the madi signal or do I need to also get a wordclock feed from them.
Thanks
Larry

Re: First venture into Madi
Most equipment I have come across clocks to incoming madi with the notable exeption of the infamous SSL Deltalink.
Madi clock is not the cleanest out there, but I have never had any trouble
From the Horus manual:
"Reference Source
Choose the desired sync source by pressing on the respective Reference
source.
Available Reference Sources are: MADI, Sync or AES"

Let me know how you get on.
Since you say this is a first for you with Madi, I have a few heads up for you:
Remember madi has two types of clock.
At higher samplerates some still send 1fs clock "frameclock", some send clock at the samplerate and some are capable of both.
Also make sure to check is the madi stream is 56ch or 64ch madi.
These all have to match up between your madi devices
