Has Merging made any sort of public statement about whether there will be a way to run Pyramix on the new MacBook Pros with Apple chips? Obviously, Bootcamp will no longer be possible, and many people who rely on it plan to move to virtualization software. However, it seems unlikely that Pyramix would be able to run in a virtual OS like VMWare.
Like many, I am wondering how Merging will respond to this change in Apple’s architecture and what will be the recommendations to users. In the past, it was easy to certify a particular MacBook Pro running Bootcamp for PMX, but the PC world is a lot more wild, sometimes with significant changes to machines with the same model designation over that model’s life cycle. And the product life cycles for PCs are much, much shorter than for Apple machines.
Will Merging:
— Designate a new “reference” PC/Laptop for Pyramix native?
— Recommend sticking with Intel-based MacBook Pros for now?
— Embark on a re-write of PMX for OSX?
— Throw their hands up and say “You’re on your own unless you buy one of our branded Masscore Widows machines.?

Re: Pyramix on MacBook Pros with Apple Silicon?
I think that will mostly depend on microsoft not merging. Since Microsoft has code made for ARM arquitecture for some time , only time will say if they want it or not.
Re: Pyramix on MacBook Pros with Apple Silicon?
Well, Windows for ARM is mostly running on the M1 (trialling it here at the moment and in fact writing this very post in this setup), however to make full potential of it, the application (= Pyramix) would need to be rewritten and optimized for ARM as well. Otherwise some translator would need to sit inbetween the application and the operating system, which is not ideal for realtime applications like DAWs...
Allthough it would be swell to see an ARM version of Pyramix, I would not bet on it, seeing that merging can barely keep up with compatibility to windows updates.
