Mykerinos PCI power pinouts for a dedicated PSU

Postby youguanxi » Wed Jul 23, 2014 14:41

Hi!
Does anyone have experience of connecting a Mykerinos card to a dedicated PSU?
According to datasheet the MYK5 soundcard feeds from PCI bus & consumes (together with AES\EBU DSD daughter card) following ammounts of power:
+5V ~ 8W
+12V ~ 1W
-12V ~ 1W
I'm not familiar with PCI bus standard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conventional_PCI ), but according to it, there are plenty of corresponding +5V \ +12V \ -12V lines.
So the main question is weather Mykerinos card feeds from each pin, mentioned in the standard, with corresponding voltages, or it only use one particular PCI line per each voltage?
As a "connector" for a dedicated PSU I think of this kind of riser: http://www.orbitmicro.com/global/pcisx4-p-776.html. The power pins (including 3.3V, as Mykerinos complies with PCI2.1 standard version & may use 3.3V line) on "male" part of riser should be isolated (terminated), to prevent the power feeding from PC's motherboard & then connected to external PSU leadouts. Other lines of the riser card should be left as is for data transfer. As for the PSU type I'm considering TeddyPardo. That's the idea.
Would be grateful if anyone can share his experience & maybe even give a hint on Mykerinos power pins.
Dmitry

Another question, is weather the 3.3V PCI lines may be painlessly isolated from the mobo, or are they involved in signal transfering (according to PCI standard 3.3V lines may be used as AC signal backward bus)?
