Does Pyramix (7) support PAE patched x86 Windows7

Postby youguanxi » Fri Jul 25, 2014 16:19

Hi!
Mykerinos cards work under 32 bit OS only, which means that maximum RAM size in the system would be limited by 4Gb.
PAE patch for Windows eliminates this limit.
Does Pyramix (7 version) and RTX (MassCore) support OS Windows 7 (x86) patched with PAE?
Thanks,
Dmitry

Hi,

To the best of my understanding (I could be wrong):

With PAE the Windows can address more than the 4GB memory limit, but this is only the OS, still each process will have 2GB from the main memory pool. so... you have a gain, Windows will have more memory but the applications will be limited.

Masscore and pyramix are 32 bit applications, thus they will only address under the 32 bit limit.

You can try by yourself installing the PAE patch, but don´t expect Merging to support something like this, it is not worth it.
