Pyramix 7.0 - VCube 3.0 - Ovation 2.0 Official Release

Dear Customers,

Merging Technologies announces official releases for Pyramix 7.0, VCube 3.0 and Ovation 2.0! These new versions are compatible with each other.

Pyramix v7.0 Official Release

Merging Technologies is proud to announce the official release of Pyramix Virtual Studio v7.0.

This Pyramix 7.0 Release version includes the MassCore support under Windows 7 (32bit) along with improvements and additional fixes. Before proceeding with the installation make sure that you have your Pyramix v7.0 Keys, since v6.0 keys will not be working with this new version.

Installation Procedure:

- Before proceeding with the installation make sure that you have your V7.0 Keys, since v6 keys will not be working with this version.
- Users that are running Pyramix v7.0 Beta or RC version can simply perform an upgrade to Pyramix v7.0 Release.
- Windows XP users: Due to some new installer requirements you will have to update to XP-SP3 in order to install Pyramix v7.0.
- Users that are running Pyramix v6.2x can perform an upgrade but Merging strongly recommends that you remove the currently installed Pyramix version prior to installing Pyramix v7.0. Merging also recommends that MassCore users remove the present runtime, by going to the Windows “Add or Remove Program” and removing the “Interval Zero RTX runtime”, make sure that you Reboot afterwards. Follow up with the Pyramix v7.0 installation, note that you will have to install the new MassCore Runtime from the MT Security Settings (MassCore tab) and reboot afterwards.

- For users with Pyramix and VCube installed on the same system, it is mandatory that you upgrade to VCube 3.0.8 to go along side this Pyramix v7.0.8

- Warning: Due to the Library format changes if downgrading to a Previous Pyramix version (e.g. v6.x) the v7.0 Library format will not be compatible, the same applies in part to the Pyramix v7.0 projects. See Release Notes for all details.

- Note on new faster Save process:

At project opening we now will decompress the project .pmx file into multiple files (.pmx, .pml, .Playlist.pml, .DefaultLibrary.pml and .Composition.pml) those files will only be all visible in Windows Explorer when the project is open in Pyramix. At save time we will re-zip those files into a single .pmx file and at close we will remove those decompressed temporary files.

There remains the possibility of reverting to the old v6.2 save mode (applies to libraries) see Release Notes under the “Tips” section for all details.

Compressed Audio File Formats:

- For the DirectShow technology support (MP3, WMA, AAC, ..) some additional 3rd party codecs might be needed. For SRC proper support, we recommend that users install the codec packs available here if they haven’t done so already. viewtopic.php?f=18&t=5755
- Flac Decoding: Install the latest Flac distribution in Program Files/FLAC see download link below

VCube v3.0 Official Release

Merging Technologies is proud to announce the official release of VCube v3.0.

This VCube 3.0 Release version includes the support under Windows 7 (32bit) along with improvements and additional fixes. Before proceeding with the installation make sure that you have your VCube v3.0 Keys, since v2.0 keys will not be working with this new version.

- Users running a VCube 2.2 version or a VCube 3.0 Beta or RC version can simply perform an upgrade to VCube 3.0 Release
- You might be warned of pending requirements at installation please proceed and install accordingly if so
- For users with Pyramix and VCube installed on the same system, it is mandatory that you upgrade your Pyramix to v7.0.8 release to go along side VCube v3.0.8.

Ovation v2.0 Official Release

Merging Technologies is proud to announce the official release of Ovation v2.0.

This Ovation 2.0 Release version includes the MassCore support under Windows 7 (32bit) along with a new SRC and improvements to the previously available Ovation v1.0.

Before proceeding with the installation make sure that you have your Ovation v2.0 Keys (Pyramix v7.0 & VCube 3.0) since v1.0 keys (Pyramix v6.0 & VCube v2.0) will not be working with this new version.

Installation Procedure:

- Before proceeding with the installation make sure that you have your v2.0 Keys (Pyramix v7.0 & VCube 3.0) since v1.0 keys (Pyramix v6.0 & VCube v2.0) will not be working with this new version.
- The Ovation installer will automatically install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Pack if it is not already present on your system.
- Windows XP users: Due to some new installer requirements you will have to update to XP-SP3.
- Pyramix v7.0.8 Release and Virtual Transport will automatically be installed by this Ovation installer. The Pyramix and VT installs can be disabled in the Custom installation options if unnecessary.
- For users enjoying Ovation and VCube on the same system, please be aware that you will need to install a new VCube 3.0.8 Release version.
