Digi 003 Factory as HUI controller

Hi,
I picked up a Digi 003 but I'm really struggling setting it up as via HUI.
The 003 passes audio from Pyramix and is recognised as a controller but the MIDI mapping seems to be wrong.
If I move faders, the pans not faders are moved on the Pyramix mixer.
I've tried various EMC templates but the MACKIE CONTROL (HUI) doesn't respond but the MACKIE CONTROL (MackieCtrl) at least responds with the bizarre behaviour I mention above.
I know there is a MIDI map mode on the 003 to custom each control individually but shouldn't all this be standard?
