Installation of v8 and iLok

Hi everyone,
Just a quick note (which I don't think is mentioned in the install instructions) to make sure the latest iLok driver (Dec.13 2012 so very recent) is installed before upgrading otherwise Flux plugins will just crash everything including the VST Scanner (and not tell you why) and Altiverb and Noir will not be authorised!

Cheers,
Tom

Hi Tom,

I had a similar problem but it occurred when upgrading the Flux plug-ins within an existing PMX V8 installation. The solution was the same as yours; get the newest iLok driver.

I experience the same problem not being able to add altiverb through VST scanner.
I already have a clean windows install and new ilok driver and new pace drivers.
Still it does not go through scanning in Pyramix 7.2
Was there any other solution to make altiverb appear in the vst scanner?
Thanks!

Found Dll files in different folder. All works now.
Since Dll file was located in different folder VST scanner could not find it.

that can happen. it seems every manufacturer has a different idea of where your VST plugins folder should be, and in most cases puts it there without asking!

in general be careful with Flux plugins. i tried to update one to the latest version without updating the others. that made none of them work!

Yes, the Flux update thing is highly annoying...I excitedly updated Elixir as it works so much more quickly in the current version, and Alchemist (which doesn't have a version 3 update yet) wouldn't authorise any more!

I have constant problems with flux and authorization in addition to constant automation bugs.
Any tips on good alternative to solera?
