Latency and Virtual Transport
When playing back .avi picture files with Virtual Transport there is an evident picture delay . Is this measurable and if so , how ?
Is this on the screen or when you are outputting the .avi to a fire wire output?
Virtual Transport seems to be a very funky aspect to the program when trying to output to the DV fire wire with the advanced video option. There is a latency and you can set an offset in VT for it, but it is trial and error to find the offset for your system. Also the video flickers between frames when stopped which is very annoying for clients to watch.
Daniel DCA in Paris has been playing with a Matrox P750 with good results and no latency. It is a triple head video card so you can still run 2 monitors and output the playback of the video to a TV or 3rd monitor.
