automation won't completely delete

I'm running Pyramix 7.1.9 native with a Grace M903 on Windows 7. I'm noticing that when I want to delete automation completely from an EDL it seems that Pyramix always leaves what I think are the group fader moves - you can see them still on the EDL. It will delete automation for individual tracks but leave the group fader moves. When you try to rewrite these and put the automation into "write" these faders (including the individual ones that the group fader is controlling) will jump to their old positions. I know there are ways around this, but they can take time and it seems that one should easily be able to erase ALL automation from an EDL. Has anyone else noticed this problem?

Thanks for any help!

David

I have run into this as well. I thought I had deleted everything only to realize that the group faders were still affecting the mix. I found some clunky work around at the time. Now I find myself using individual faders instead of groups.

In general it seems the automation implementation is not very elegant.

Another fly in the ointment for me is when I Delete & Ripple audio, the automation does not follow suit unless I manually drag the highlighted region to cover all tracks. That is not very efficient. Perhaps there is an easier way that I have yet to discover.

If you find more elegant solutions, let me know.

Be well.
