In relation to Pyramix 7, do we know if the age old chestnut of "clip based eq" has been addressed?

Well that's a limit that won't go away until pyramix runs on 64bit Windows OS - merging's response on that is located here:

As I am making hardware investments right now,
Will non merging cards such as the RME madi cards and the SSL madi cards be able to talk with the masscore engine?
I get the impression that the Horus will talk directly with the masscore engine without going through a mykerinos.
Will this be true with certain non merging products as well, or is the feature exclusive to the Ravenna protocol?

Hi Kjetil,
It's my understanding that Horus effectively replaces the Mykerinos functions, vis a vis MassCore and I/O. So, it's unlikely *at least in the near future* that any third - party cards will be able to access MassCore.
What is it that you want from MassCore that Pyramix Native doesn't give you?
Best,
Graemme

Graemme, I have never used a native system, so I have no idea if it would work for me.
Typically it needs to be able to handle mixing on the fly with 40 tracks incoming at 96.
Mixing in surround with stems on the various groups, reberbs on stems from external harware reverb, downmix to surround and stereo.
Add to this playback cue, overdubs, sometimes even feeding groups a little of themselves and distant instruments for can-comfort.
Right now my protools does this kind of work, but I would like to migrate even these sessions to PMX when all editing and mixing is done in-house.

Hi Kjetil,
A PMX native system, running on an i7 platform could fit the bill for you. I'd get a demo and try it out. The SSL MADI boards work with Pyramix native.
Best,
Graemme
