Rename IO

Postby Nikolai » Sat Aug 28, 2010 11:29

Hi.
Just a quick question:
How do I rename the physical IO in pyramix?
So that 22 "ADAT#1" is labled "Mic 16" and "12. spdif" is named "2Track" etc.
Is it also possible to reorder them so all the mic inputs comes first, then line IO?
Sorry for such a basic question
Thanks
Nikolai

Hi Nikolai,

Close your project and rename them in the Settings under Routing.
Cannot reorder them at the moment it is automatically done.

Best Regards,
Ricardo

Hi
thanks for the reply.
I go to settings > All settings but can't find anything labeled "routing"
I can see Hardware > I/O interfaces and the name of my ASIO card.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Nikolai,

renaming is only for the mykerinos systems.

Hmm, Strange. Anyone know why? I presume that labeling is not done in the DSP cards?

Hello,

It has been implemented in a part of the code that only handles the Mykerinos in MassCore mode.

Ok thanks for clearing that up.

Now the inevitable question is, was that a good idea?
Would it not make more sense to make this feature independent of the chosen of audio engine?
It is an extremely nice and handy feature for everyone.
Would make it possible to ex. label all outboard gear and external devices directly in Pyramix, instead of having a piece of paper saying “Output 5” = “480 machine 1”

Hi Nikolai,

We actually plan another solution in the future.
Abstract Live Matrix.

Hi Jaap,
Coming soon...Promised, Mr Smith?

We've started by improving the Automation for you in v7.0 ;)
Can't promise any dates, but we can discuss it at IBC if you are around.

Ricardo
