EuCon, OASIS and 6.2 SP1 Crashing

Hi Folks,

We are in the process of upgrading our Euphonix System5 to a SuperCore system and adding the Euphonix Hybrid Option primarily to allow us the ability to have the System5 surface controlling our Pyramix and Pro Tools systems. However, I am having some issues getting it all running.

At present, I have the EuCon Workstation software ( build 67100 ), and Pyramix 6.2 SP1 installed. Pyramix is running fine, until I add a EuCon Controller as outlined in the EuCon installation manual. The process suggested is:

- Add a Controller in the settings window
- Set its Driver type to OASIS
- Set the OASIS properties to use EuCon as its transport, and station ID 1 ( we only have one controller)

Then, when I create a new Project ( or open a recent project ), Pyramix crashes as it loads, the progress indicator gets to "Loading EuCon Contoller" then the app bombs out.

We are running a Merging PC, Windows XP v2002,SP2, MassCore.

I am wondering if there is something missing that is causing this exception, do I need additional licenses? We have the "remote control support", but none of the licenses that refer to OASIS?

According to Pyramix release notes :
- > Euphonix Eucon v2.5.1 can cause Pyramix to crash when closing the Settings page
Merging expects the Euphonix team solve this problem
Workaround: Use an older Eucon version

Have just tried with EuCon 1.4.2 as advised, but the system crashes at the same point.

What can I do to assist you assess the problem?

Hi Tony

Yes you do need an aditional licence key to run Oasis. This could be the problem. You will need to contact your local Merging distributor and purchase the Oasis First Class key if you dont have it included in your key set. Check your MT Security setting list and see
