Hi,

I have a 40x24x32 channel board and 24 channells of the Merging DUO II converters.
I need to get 16 more channels and was wondering what experience anyone has had with the SSL 24 channel converters? Are they good, or just cheap. Are they better than the DUO II? I can't afford Prism or the new DAD in such large numbers.

Also, really, can anyone tell the difference in sonic quality with the higher sample rates. The DUO only goes up to 48k but most of my work is for video anyway. I've given up on DSD.

Any suggestions?

Considering that SSL has misspelled "Sample Rate" as "Sample Tape" in almost every ad that I've seen, some skepticism might be in order!

Despite SSL's typographical ineptitude, the 24 channel box sounds very good and is, I think, a very good value for the money asked.

Best,

I have a version from Soundscape/Sydec before SSL bought them, I am quite happy with it. The dollar to channel of conversion ratio is excellent!
