CD Burner

Postby Geo » Fri Feb 15, 2008 20:41

I am still running 4.3 on 2 systems. One of my Plextors is acting flaky and I need to replace it. What can I replace it with?

Thanks

Hi,

Find Merging's recomendation here.
www.merging.com > products>pyramix virtual studio>system requirements>recommended PC configuration page.

"As of today, all drives conforming to MMC standard should work with DiscWrite / Pyramix. This represents about 99.99% of all currently manufactured optical units. Until we found problems with the Plextor PX-800, we always recommended PX 712, 716, 755, 760 and 800 from Plextor "Pro" series. As of December 2007, we now recommend the Lite-On LH-20A1H burners which can also be used with a quality verification tool called KProbe."

Regards,
Ricardo

Try Keith at EDX Electronics. Last I knew he had a whole bunch of PX-760A's... Retail, OEM and otherwise... By the CASE!

If you are buying a 700 series plextor, you might be interested to know that plextools has been discontinued, and getting a license for this utility is difficult .....

I was stupid enough to buy the 'XL' version of Plextools only to discover that the free version was, for my uses, much better...

However, Nero's CD/DVD Speed Tool and KProbe2 can both do C1/C2 error checks using Lite-On burners.
