Pyramix install on WinXP

Postby svennevig » Mon Jun 10, 2002 23:23

Hello!

I've problems with installing Pyramix 4.0.21 on WinXP.
After booting up after the install the tmirq nags me that there's been a non access to memory.
The Merging icon in the control panel tells me there's no Mykerinos.
The Device manager tells me everything is OK.
Same do the winmsd.exe

Help !! :?

Hi there,

I don't think that 4.0 is xp-compatible.
New xp-drivers have been written for the upcoming 4.1-version.

Cheers

OK !
It's only that the 4.01 SP2 download says that it supports XP!

I've got it running now under Win2K. It proves it wasn't something wrong with my brand new Dell Prec. 530 workstation at least :)

You're right Benoit,

only versions 4.1 and up are compatible with XP.

I'm running the 4.1 Beta4 now. Working fine under XP.
Do not see any option for loading VST though :-(
It says its easy in the Release Notes

Hi, I'm in the same boat. I tried to create a folder called *\VSTPluginsPath with regedit but was unsuccessful. Has anyone figured this out?

XP and NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOCATIONS

Postby Chris Dearing » Mon Jun 17, 2002 15:37

Has anyone gotten blue screen of death, usaully on boot, with the error NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOCATIONS, after installing the drivers on XP Pro using both betas? I disabled the card during boot and re-enabled it after booting and it seemed to work the first or second time. I have only used the ASIO driver so far. It was working in Nuendo and for a bunch of the Native Instruments synths. Now tho the NI stuff errors when it starts and although Nuendo I don't hear anyting anymore. Also, it takes incredibly long to switch to the mixer from Nuendo, > 40 seconds sometimes. Is this normal for the ASIO or the XP? I have added a parameter irpstacklocations with a value of up to 24 in the registry to try to stop the first error but to no avail? Also, is the setting for sync supposed to stick between sessions? One probelem was that I had to get the mixer up to change the sync to MADI wordclock or it wouldny work at all... Anybody?

Hi!

I haven't had such IRQ errors, but it usually describes the correct situation. Use winmsd to sort out if there is short of IRQs.

ASIO you said: Do you know how to alter the latency setting for the ASIO driver. Its terribly far from low latency when used in Nuendo.
If we could get the 2.9ms latency in an ASIO program as well it would be great.
