This issue should have been fixed, are you using 5.1 SP3?

hello Ricardo,

I'm using 5.1.13 SP3 Build 174 26.04.2007
When this problem occurs, it is impossible for me to import other compositions. I always have the same error message.

Hi,

Can you make sure that you have the right OMF handler file version?
1. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Merging Technologies\MediaHandlers
2. select OMFhandler.dll and go to Version properties.
4. version should be 5.1.13.174

If you do have the good version, than please send us your OMF file.

Regards,
Ricardo

Hi

Any luck finding out about error 28, when doing an OMF import? We seem to get it when importing other files too.

Strangely, I noticed that if we rebooted and created a new project, we could import successfully. However, as soon as we opened an old project, we got Error 28 again for any project we tried importing into. A reboot solves it for the "new" project but not the existing.

We created a blank project and moved the timeline info over to it, and this didnt work either.

We are using Pyramix Virtual Studio version 6.0.15_SP1_Build457. What should our OMF handler version be?

Thanks

Hi,

Maybe you could try un-mounting the folders where the OMF medias are located (or deleting the quickmount file)
Afterwards open the project and import the OMF. Does it work now?

Hi

I dont believe the folder in question is actually mounted, as its failing before it gives us the option to mount the folder. I deleted all of the quickmount files, but no difference.

This is a very strange fault...

Here's whats happening....

Start Pyramix > Open recently made 'test' project > import works fine.
Close project (but not Pyramix) > Open existing project > import fails with error 28.
Close project (but not Pyramix) > Reopen 'test' project > import fails with error 28.

If I then... Close project, and exit Pyramix > open 'test' project > import works fine.

But if I do the following... Close project, and exit Pyramix > open old existing project > import fails with error 28.

Can anyone make any suggestions of how to best resolve this one?

Thanks in advance

Another point on this one; whilst investigating, I have found that when I open the "suspect" project, if I delete all media from the timeline, save it, close pyramix, and reopen it, I am able to do an omf import.

Does this then point to a problem with the existing media in the project?

Is there any known issues with embedded omf's and other files which may already be present in there?

Thanks
