Which MIDI interface

Postby davy lamb » Sun May 14, 2006 22:24

Hi,
We've just got our Pmix machines, so expect a few queries!

We hope to use a Yamaha DM2000 with one Pmix, and an 02R96 with another. Any preferences to which MIDI interface to get? And is it still the case that v5 doesn't support the hui interfsce at the moment?

Thanks,
Davy

Hi,

The support of HUI (EMC Enhance Midi Control support) is planned for Pyramix 5 SP2. This version will be availalbe by the AES Paris time (next week).

With a DM2000 and a 02R96 you don't need an extra midi interface. The USB connection of these controllers are viewed as multiple midi port in Pyramix.

Hi Florian,

Thanks for your reply, and the information.

I didn't know the USB connection on the DM2000/ 02R96 could be plugged directly to the Pmix. Does that mean we could also run the Yamaha's Studio Manager software on the PMix PC? (Not at the same time as the Pmix program)

Cheers,
Davy

Hi,

you can use both on the same pc, at the same time.

Just take care to use the last OS in your mixing board, last usb drivers and last studio manager, otherwise you should get some bugs ...
