Hi,
Using Cedar to clean up tracks by rendering the section, clean, and it drops back into place. Playback to confirm - all good move on.
Next day, open up same project, didn't touch a thing, now I hear a few random slips of the Cedar file, and/or the zero crossfade was lost and I have a digital tic.
Anyone else experiencing this bug? I'm still running 11.1.5 and .6 on both Windows 7Pro and WIndows 10 pro.
Thanks

Re: Control W renders slipping and causing tic
Whenever I do this kind of operation - using a Render to modify a portion of a clip or clips - I always extend the selection at either end by adding "Handles" of a second or two (available in the Render Window). Then after doing the processing, I'll use the Crossfade Editor to "X-ify" the joins, re-position and fine tune the crossfades. No clicks ever.
If you're processing individual whole clips, then you should check your settings in the main Settings > Application > Playback/Record dealing with "Automatic Deglitching", where the available choices include applying a 64 sample long fade at the beginning and ending of each clip for Playback, and/or adding a duration of your choice (default is 2.5 ms) to the beginning and ending of each Clip, automatically.

Re: Control W renders slipping and causing tic
I have seen this bug show up every once in a while although not for at least 2-3 versions of Pyramix. I don't believe it's related to any user-settings, as mine haven't changed for *YEARS*. It may be procedural, but I can't test for that when the problem isn't manifesting itself currently (V12 here.)
A Question: Do you have separate time scales on your source and destination track groups? I'm only wildly speculating here but about the time I stopped experiencing that bug was when I stopped using separate time-scales (and soon after, S/D in general due to changing requirements.)
Regarding rendering with Retouch and Renovator: There's no need for this labour-intensive x-fade process you propose/use, FL. I've spent a lot of my waking hours buried in those apps and except for the rare occurrences of the above-mentioned bug, it's solid, simple and reliable.

My experience is identical to Graemne's.

This is a Cedar issue. If you move the splice point over a few samples, the click goes away. Happens on all the 64 bit versions.

Sometimes this is caused by the auto de-glitch when you have a 90 degree edge on the sound file....
Re: Control W renders slipping and causing tic
It may be a Cedar issue now (good that it's identified as such so it can be fixed) and historically, it has been a general 'Rendering' interface issue as well, in my experience. I mention this because there never was any definitive bug fix for these problems from a few years ago - they just 'stopped' sometime in the v9/v10 cycle.
