Will Pyramix 10 run on Win 10? Will the beta stage of PMX10 consider this? Thanks

Well they are going to have to sort this pretty soon, the current commercial release (v9.1) is still recommending Windows 7 for which Microsoft stopped mainstream support last January. Extended support from Microsoft is projected to 2020.

It is now very difficult to find PCs with Windows 7 pre installed, not currently a problem getting your own copy and installing yourself, but that is going to put off a lot of users who don't like fiddling with PCs.

PMX 9.1.8 running on W10 nicely, here. Did an inplace upgrade. Really sweet.

That's encouraging to hear. Though I am going to wait until Merging officially support it.

Pyramix 10 as of current beta:

Windows 8.1 Professional (64bit) support for Pyramix Native & Native/RAVENNA
(as well as win 7)

MassCore is supported only on Windows 7-64bit as of Pyramix v10

The Pyramix v10 is only supported under 64bit OS so only a 64bit Pyramix installer is available as the 32bit OS are no longer supported as of v10

(Interval zero released a Win 8.1 version a week ago, so I imagine Masscore for Win 8.1 is one step closer to happening, but that is pure speculation on my part.)

Does that mean that Pyramix 10 will not be supported under Windows 7? This could cause me to reconsider my annual software maintenance payment...

Hi,
Maurice Engler from Merging said me that they could not test the compatibility of Pyramix 10 with windows 10 because Windows 10 is not out yet, and it will take time. For cons, I do not know if Pyramix V10 will run in 32-bit?

Best regards,

Bernard

Not out yet but other DAW manufacturers already announced their statements on the issue. Beta builds existed for a long time before official WIN10 release. I guess it has to do with priorities. I guess that the pharao is affraid of Cortana :)

Ahahaha(laughs), nice to see some sense of humour here!

Este pessoal da Merging, às vezes parece que anda a dormir! - No, go and translate that! :D
