Bus Tools Strangeness

Postby Geo » Mon May 23, 2005 20:02

I was using the Mix Down feature on a few clips mixing from Bus 1 and using Bus Tools on the strip. When I had the Limiter ON but the DRC Limiter OFF, every file I generated had a 5 second or so fade-up on the front. If I turned ON the DRC section, the Mixed file was fine.

Any ideas on why this would happen?

'Tis a longstanding bug, that you have possibly found the root-cause of.

On my system, doing a real-time mixdown avoids the problem, although that's hardly practical sometimes.

Unless you have a really good reason (too much DSP consumption?), leave the DRC on. It works really well and is my preferred setting for using the limiter in BusTools.

Hope this is a little helpful...

Best,

Graemme

Thanks. I usually have the DRC feature on but somehow I must have accidentally turned if off. I presume you will pass on the info.
