New to Merging world

Postby pepe44 » Sat Oct 24, 2020 18:43

Hi everyone.

I have some questions before i dig into the world of pyramix and merging ADDA.

Im planning to get the ANUBIS converter. it comes with the elements version of pyramix.
My questions are:

- Would i be able to upgrade later on to the Pro version, or i need to buy a full licence for the pro ?
-While using the Elements version can i buy seperatly the finalcheck and the strip/bus tools?

Thanks
All the best.

It would be best to ask these questions to your country's Merging Technology distributor. There is probably an upgrade path from Elements to Pro or Premium, but whether or not there is special pricing is a question to ask your distributor. It looks like Elements is very much a Demo version - lacking some key features, such as Source-Destination editing and Video capability. It might be worth it to ask if there is any price reduction if you buy an Anubis and the Pro version at the same time.

At one time, Merging sold individual features on an "a-la-carte" basis (in the past, this included things like DDP Creation, Final Check, or various Plug-ins), which would be applied to your existing license key - but I have no idea whether they're continuing the practice, now they've changed to the Elements/Pro/Premium product line. Another question for your distributor.

In any event, you should be aware of the Annual Software Maintenance cost, which varies according to your license level and any options you may have added. Something more to discuss with your country's distributor.

In the meantime, welcome aboard! You'll find that the initial contact with Pyramix can be daunting - people have described the learning curve as a vertical wall - but there is a lot of help available online, both here in the forum from other users, and from Merging's Knowledge Base - https://confluence.merging.com/display/ ... ledge+Base
