Extra long CD image creation times

Postby soundaround » Thu Jul 22, 2004 23:25

Recently we have gone from a normal CD image creation time of about 4-6 times real time to about real time. And we do not have the real time box checked. Can anyone explain what may be going on? Have we inadvertantly done something to cause a problem? Please advise as this is a real time killer

Can't be plug-ins or automation. IF he can play the project in real time, why should it take 4 to 6 (!!) times real time to mixdown?

..because of swap file issues, hard disc acess, burner driver conflicts, (could be involved...) only to mention a few. Support issue. Suppose: drop them a line and ask for assistance.

I think by 4-6 times real time he means faster than real time, not slower. I think he is wondering why it is now taking closer to real time.

Doh! I misread it completely. Thanks for pointing it out.

Dear Visiteur,

As Product Specialist for Sequoia you’re certainly in a very good position to give your opinion on subjects like Source Destination Editing or Auto-tuning, but we’re less sure about your skill in Hardware, DSP, File Format or Video Synchronization…

We, at Merging, feel sad that you’re trying to help our customers having problems by advertising your product which, in most of the present cases, couldn’t help at all.

This is particularly sad as we have the greatest admiration for Sequoia, a truly wonderful product we know very well since many years as the person who occupied your position some years ago has become a Pyramix distributor…

So, as a tribute to your professionalism, and to help you better supporting our customers, Merging is willing to offer you a full blown Pyramix Workstation next time you come “visit” us at our office.

With our greatest respect,

Sincerely,

Dominique Brulhart
