Well of course they are all going to say that.

I notice Wavelab is supported, probably because it is well written code, OS unimportant. :)

Maurice Engler from Merging said me that they could not test the compatibility of Pyramix 10 with windows 10 because Windows 10 is not out yet, and it will take time. For cons, I do not know if Pyramix V10 will run in 32-bit?

Best regards,

Bernard

Not out yet but other DAW manufacturers already announced their statements on the issue. Beta builds existed for a long time before official WIN10 release. I guess it has to do with priorities. I guess that the pharao is affraid of Cortana :)

I can confirm that, as far as my not-very-extensive testing went, PMX 10 beta 3 works perfectly fine on Windows 10 Pro (build 10240). I'm running native with Ravenna-over-ASIO and a HAPI box.

Great to know it´s working fine. Does anybody running Masscore, had a try with win10 as well?

Hopefully as win10 requirements are relatively simple in terms of computer power, on par with win7, I hope I can still install my old Pyramix V7 Masscore on it. Providing we get RTX for win10 that is.

EDIT: Well, after some thought and a visit to RTX Interval 0 website, won´t be possible to have the latest version that may support win10 with the Pyramix V7 Masscore, as the instalation of RTX (masscore) comes enbedded on the V7 install. Have to find a copy of win 7 to replace my XP here. Poor guys tale :)

I heard on the grapevine that the imminent PMX10 works with a new version of RTX on W81, so it probably will work on W10. At least it will be easier to find a copy of W81 than W7.

Hi,

Can you confirm that you have installed Pyramix V10 UNDER Windows 10 ?

Hi,
Yes, but now, you cannot install Pyramix V9xxx 64 bits in windows 10 64 bits. It's not compatible. :D

What? is that true. I've just ordered a new laptop to run Native and Ovation. It comes with Windows 8 and was planning to upgrade it to 10. Are you now telling me that won't work? Or is the :D telling me you having a laugh?

Bernard is obviously having a laugh. PMX 9.1.8 Native running beautifully here on Windows 10 on both studio and laptop machines. Absolutely no issues so far.

DJS,

Impossible installation Pyramix Native 9.1.8 64 bits in windows 10 64 bits. For you, I think it works because you have made the upgrade to win 10 from win 7 or 8 after Pyramix install. And I laugh too :D I have tested this, it seems working but there are asio driver conflicts, etc.... (instability)

But Pyramix 9.1.8 64 bits can not be installed in Windows 10 64 bits, with or without firewall activated. You have a rollback during installation

Hi Bernard,

Did you do this first?
http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how-to- ... d-drivers/

Yes, I upgraded, but the driver signing prevents install on 8.1 as well.

No instability of ASIO here, but I am using a beta 10 version of ASIO.

I've just taken delivery of a laptop the primary purpose of which is to have Pyramix Native and Ovation.

It has arrived with Win 8.1 home already installed. I am now considering downgrading to Windows 7 Pro which I have in a sealed box on the shelf, or upgrade to Win 10 in the hope that PMX 10 will work when it is eventually released.

I'm in no rush to complete this project, it's first paid job will be around Christmas. I am prepared to wait and see what happens, but if anyone has any thoughts as to how best to proceed, I would be interested to hear them.

Hi,

and thank you for the tip, David :)

But after trying W10, (very "pretty" with many new gadgets) I have seen many behaviour problems, (between Pyramix and other programs, for example) instability after reboots, etc, etc...I prefer to stay with W7 and expect to the 10th version of Pyramix, version I hope compatible with W10.

So, I apply the proverb : "does not break what works" :)

Well, PMX v10 (MassCore) is running just fine with Win7. Will learn how v10 Native fares, soon-ish.

My advice? WAIT...(or crack that copy of Win7 and be done with it ;->)

I have Win10 running at home and I agree with Bernard's assessment, so I wouldn't risk it on paying work yet.
