mark in/out doesn't work

Postby Daniel Keinath » Fri Dec 09, 2011 19:36

Hi!
I just updated my pyramix to v7 (using 7.16 Build 14296 native on win XP 32bit). So far everything works fine except of one little detail:
I can no longer select a range by dropping "mark in" and "mark out" points (I mean these red and green lines...)

Here is what happens when I try to do so: dropping one mark will always make the other one disappear. I can either have one green line or one red line at a time, but I can never have both lines at the same time... Everytime I drop the mark out point the mark in point will disappear (and vice versa) This makes some things a bit complicated as you can imagine...

It doesn't make a difference if I use a shortcut or if I select the commands from the menu. Even using the mouse (strg-click or shift-click) will cause the same problem.

Can anyone confirm this issue? Are there any workarounds? Or is there just a problem with my computer?

Thanks for your help!

Hey Daniel,

I use the mark in/out all the time and have not experienced this - I'm using 7.17 14586 atm. I may have skipped over 7.16 though.

I'd maybe bump up to 7.17. That's what I'm using and there are no problems with the mark here.

Hi!

Thanks for your replies!
I've found the reason for this weird behavior! Since updating to v7.17 didn't make a difference I did some investigation on that particular project I've been working with and I found out that there is an option which I haven't known before. Apparently this option had been turned on accidently at some point. It is "Cursor and marks -> Lock Marks". Deselecting it solved the problem right away... good to know ;-)

Thanks again!

The "Lock Marks" command doesn't actually remove marks - it locks the duration between them. You must have had a large selection between them which made it seem like the mark had disappeared when in fact it has just moved down the timeline.

eg: If you have the in mark at 1:00:00:00 and the out at 2:00:00:00 and you enable lock marks and you place the in mark at 1:00:10:00 - you will see the out will move to 02:00:10:00 keeping the one hour between them intact.

Best,

Mark

got it... This is actually a handy feature. I will use it from now on! In my case the duration between the marks was 0:00 so that they were both at the same spot. Just the red AND the green arrow in the timeline could have given me a hint...

Thanks
