Hi,

The Pyramix V6.0 version is currently nearing the end of the Beta cycle and we expect to have the official release out within a matter of weeks, pending on the success of the last beta phase.

Here are some of the V6.0 features

- MassCore! Significantly higher mix engine raw power, including larger mixer configurations and/or higher sampling rates and/or more real time plug-ins and effects
- Full delay Compensation (VS3 and/or VST)
- VST inserts on Busses and Auxes (Native effects processed realtime & inserted on buses)
- VST Multi-channel support
- General Automation improvements
- External Inserts support (physical effects)
- New Monitoring features (Externals/Talkbacks/Dim&Max volume Value)
- New Meter Bridge
- New Optimized SRC Algorithms
- Pyramix CD image import
- New Windows Tabs
- New Pyramix Native Pack with extended I/O
- Mismatch Sample Rate detection (within project mismatch clip will have blue waveforms)
- New Surround Panner display option
- New option to forward the importing of composition containing video clips to the VCube
- Ramses MSC Integration
- Vista Support
- New AES II I/O Daughter cards support
And more,...

Ricardo

Hi,

So does this mean one will be able to finally automate VST plugins - or would we still locked into the proprietry plugs?
Also, any more info on an ETA?
Many thanks.
Dan

Hi Dan,

VST plugins automation is something we want to have in the V6 release, but if times does not allow we will have it just after so for an SP1 by example.

Note that we are very close to the Release Candidate version.

Ricardo

Hi guys,

Talking to people in Montréal they are estimating around December 07.

Ricardo, one of the "and many more" features is the option of hi sampling rates for Native? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks

High Sampling rates have always been available for Native - you need to pay for them with the 'High Sample Rate' option. This won't change with V6 as far as I know. Perhaps Merging HQ can clarify this.

You will be able to use up to 12 I/O at 384K (24@192K/48@96K/96@48K) providing you can find an interface that will accommodate you.

looking over the current v. 5 pricing here: http://www.merging.com/2002/structure/frameOptions.htm, you see you have to go two levels up to the mastering pack to get the high sample rate option, as Graemme mentioned. i believe it is also available as an a la carte option.

however, according to a v.6 price list (distributed at AES?), the high sample rate option will be included in all of the bundles. this means it's not an extra, assuming you're purchasing -at minimum- the broadcast bundle. the great thing is the price on that bundle, which is well under the cost of version 5. :D

am i nuts for thinking v.6 Native is less expensive overall?
cheers,
-c

Ricardo,
can you give some details about the SRC ? Will it be a Merging implementation or a third party one ?
Just curious.

Hi Kees,

This is only for conversion 8FS <=> 2FS and from 4FS<=> 1FS. It will reduce the conversion time.

Hi Kaji,

Native can still do up to 4FS. There will be a new Native Pack with extended I/O.

Any updated ETA for Pyramix v.6? I'd love to do beta testing (of all versions, not just the one that's about to be released! ) if you could use my help... Really! Let me know!
