Hello Laurent,
I'm still having problems with the AES audio output of the Xena2k card. It seems that whatever setting I use I cannot get clean audio out of the AES outputs. It sounds like a bad clock problem (audio is sort of looped and totally glitched).
The audio is referenced to the video input clocks.
Any ideas?
Steven

Once converted (like I do with H264) I still get occasionnal hiccups and loops. Still a bit weird. And while I'm bothering you when I try to import H264 movies (like Quicktime film trailers to demo our system) the movie appears in the upper left corner of the screen, and all the rest of the screen is green. Once converted to MJPEG it stays that way, but can read without picture slowdowns or hiccups.

H.264 is just another variety of MPEG long GOP codec. So that doesn't reduce CPU requirement. Long GOP codec, especially in HD, should be avoided for post production purpose because of the poor seeking they allow and the CPU horse power they need.
DVC-PRO HD, MJPEG or YUY2 must be prefered since those codec use intra-frame compression that is CPU friendly.

Dear all,
Maybe a similar issue here: I obtained problems with embedded audio playback of native, uncompressed audio and video files. It seems related to the audio disk playback performance, which showed bad values (in playback monitor) during first run of a loop. If a loop is replayed again, it works without problems. Since HD video 720p50 is played ok, it's probably not related to the disk itself.
To me it's very strange, Merging having troubles with audio...
Best regards
