Hi,
brand new with Pyramix Native, I tried to import an AAF-File created with Sequoia into Pyramix. In Sequoia I choosed the "not embedded" option. Unfortunately no track markers are imported. I checked the AAF File by re-importing to Sequoia which worked well.
Is there any checkbox I missed, or any other suggestion?
Thanks
Friedrich

Re: Importing AAF from Sequoia/Samplitude
I always use "embedded" and it works well. Pyramix to ------> Sequoia and vice versa.
Re: Importing AAF from Sequoia/Samplitude
Thanks for your advice. I just imported an "embedded" AAF-File, but unfortunately I can´t find any CD track marker. Is there any additional step to go?
Re: Importing AAF from Sequoia/Samplitude
Sequoia can embed CD-track markers in BWF files but Pyramix cannot read them, as far as I know. I'm not so familiar with the AAF-import capabilities of Pyramix, however I'm pretty sure that CD-markers are not part of the deal. Try regular 'markers', placed in the CD-marker positions on your Sequoia EDL. Pyramix can convert (manually) this kind of marker to a CD-marker, *IF* AAF supports the transfer from Sequoia to Pyramix.

Re: Importing AAF from Sequoia/Samplitude
Graemme, I guess it is time to remind Merging of our old BWF markers request
Re: Importing AAF from Sequoia/Samplitude
I am sorry fwr, but it is a PMX bug. To proove this do the following:
- export an small project in PMX with markers to a AAF.
- import the same AAF into PMX. Gone are the markers.
(BTW: this has been mentioned years ago, when AAF started to become populair over OMF. Nothing has been done here. It even has a MT bugnumber assigned IIRC)

Re: Importing AAF from Sequoia/Samplitude
I have not tried with AAF markers, but with BWF, the markers are on are on export from PMX not readable by Sequoiatude or Digas - i.e. they do not exist.
Either way it woudl be very nice if aforementioned bug is fixed as well as implementing embedded BWF markers

Re: Importing AAF from Sequoia/Samplitude
Thanks all for your posts. What a pity. But it´s good to know that´s not up to me. That means a lot of additional work...
Re: Importing AAF from Sequoia/Samplitude
Well, as Kjetil says, it's time to remind Merging that we require both the embedded metadata in BWF and tools to get it there from all areas (Media Files, EDL, DiscWrite, etc.) of Pyramix.
Tools to edit that metadata would be very helpful (e.g. ISRC in BWF is not editable, at the moment, in Pyramix.)
