Hi all,
I wonder if someone could offer some advice on some navigational issues I have with the Source-Destination layout. Basically, I find that zooming in S-D projects using a mouse (alt+scrollwheel) is a nightmare if, as happens every so often, the mouse is accidentally hovering over one track group (e.g. source) while the other track group (e.g. destination) is still selected. The result is that the selected track group moves to a completely different place in the timeline, often many hours away from where I've been working. Does this sound like a problem anyone else has encountered? I can't find anything else in the forum.
Using 7.1.10.
Cheers
Ben

A good place to start would be to go to the Track Groups Tab, and enable "Free Zoom" and maybe "Show Scale" for one of your Groups and "Keep Cursor" for both. Now, when you zoom or move the cursor around in one Group, you will see the changes affecting the other, but when you activate the other group, your cursor will immediately jump back to where you last left it.

Re: Navigation issues with Source-Destination
Hi Ben,
I find it easier to use ALT-3 and ATL-4 for zooming. Also the ";" key takes you to the Gate In of whichever group you are in - great if you do end up hours away! Free Zoom is handy, though sometimes with multiple sources (like 3 performances) you might have fixed zoom for those so they stay aligned, and free zoom for the destination.
Cheers,
Tom

Thanks both. Early testing suggests that turning off free zoom for one of the groups seems to work for me - no more ending up 7 hours on in the timeline! Thanks again for the help.
