Re: Best video file from PC AVID for native

Hello, DNxHD in 8 bit works great and it's Avid's native file format. However, I believe it's not part of all Pyramix packages so you might have to check that... An other solution would be to transcode the DNxHD files to proxy ProRes using Davinci Resolve or any other video transcoder that can go be...

Recording status window

Hi, I have a small suggestion about the recording status window... I've been using that window on a secondary 16:9 video output that feeds monitors to both the producer and the conductor - see the attached image. Because of the monitor's video resolution (720p - I'm using HD-SDI to feed the conducto...

Re: Slow VST scan

Good advice Frank - I'll at least move out the plugins for which I don't have a licence. I still whish there was a way to deactivate VST scanning at startup since I still have a lot of them...

Thanks!

Slow VST scan

Hello all, The Pyramix startup time is really slow since at least V10 (running 11.0.5) and now that I have an UAD accelerator, it's even worse because they install the full DLL collection even if you only buy a few plugins for their system... It there a way to fix this? Anyone also having this issue...

Re: DLL's missing, Pyramix cannot launch

I have the same issue - you can avoid this issue by lauching Pyramix as administrator (right-clic on the PMX laucher and choose the proper option in the drop-down menu). I still have issues with CPU consuption that seems high compared to V10 and busses that cannot be removed from an EDL without cras...

Buffer issues

Hello all, Am I the only one having major ASIO buffer issues with PMX Native V11? I'm using Pyramix with various sound cards (RME MADI-FX, UFX, pretty common stuff for PMX users...) and as soon as I put the ASIO driver's buffer at 1024 or above, the software refuses most of the time to either playba...

Re: Dante and Pyramix

Hi, I've used Dante with my Pyramix Native Pro system a few times to track projects with up to 64 tracks and everything went smoothly. You can simply purchase the Audinate DVS driver instead of getting a dedicated PCIe card. Perhaps the CPU overhead and delay is lower with the dedicated card but I f...

Re: Pyramix X is here!! But where is verb?

The Flux plugins need to be installed separately (it's indicated in the installation guide). Follow the link to get the files :

Re: Cedar Retouch with Pyramix 9.0.7 64 bit

Thanks for the information Mark!

I guess then that I'll have to make myself a 32 bit Windows install for those moments when I need to run Cedar.

Best,

François

Cedar Retouch with Pyramix 9.0.7 64 bit

Hello, I'm currently trying to install the Cedar Retouch v.3.0.3 on my Pyramix Native system (we had version 6 on Mykerinos hardware for a long time and recently upgraded) but I'm unable to use "see" the plugin in Pyramix"s Render dialog. Is this old but very effective plugin still co...

Waveform issues

Hello, I have a weird issue when using the background recorder... When I start editing a file while I'm still recording with the background recorder (I record in BWAV format), I get "glitches" in the waveform display. These glitches that look like full scale noise change location when zoom...

Re: OASIS eco Key (PSO-OAS-ECO)"unknow controller protocol"

Hello Tim! Great to hear from you! Boy do I miss the Berkshires but at least things are going pretty well here in Montreal. The solution you just posted works perfectly and I tried it just before the Pyramix 9 release since David sent it to me directly (I should have posted it here). I'm now running...

Re: OASIS eco Key (PSO-OAS-ECO)"unknow controller protocol"

Hi, I tried the proposed solution (Eucon v.2.6.2/Registry edit) and I'm still getting the "Unknown Controller Protocol" message when trying to activate the control surface in Pyramix. Has anyone made Pyramix 8.1.11 talk with the Eucon driver in Windows 7 64 bit? If so, what's the best meth...

ASIO driver problem

Hi, I sometimes need to open EDLs in other software (Wavelab) on my Pyramix workstation and I've been doing so using the Mykerinos ASIO driver without a hitch until this morning when I upgraded to Pyramix version 6.0 SP1 from the last of the 5.x version. Now, when selecting the Mykerinos ASIO driver...

Hi Ygoh, You seem to mix two different things here : wordlength and software coding. The fact that a software is coded to run on a 64 bit processor has nothing to do with the fact that it can do its internal audio processing at 48 bit, 64 bit or any other precision. I'm not an expert in processors b...
