This display reset issue is related to the AJA boards' internal buffers, not Direct Draw's buffers. This is a known issue found in 2.1 scheduled as MT3252 for implementation in an upcoming build of VCube version 2.2.

That is definately a bug. I rendered 44 mins of DV PAL with a stereo pair to an MPEG1 and hit Cancel. My VCube 2.1 hung alright. Bug entered in our database as MT3260

Before you uninstall and totally clean up a VCube in order to retrograde the version, copy this file elsewhere, re-install VCube and replace this .xml.
