automation won't completely delete
I'm running Pyramix 7.1.9 native with a Grace M903 on Windows 7. I'm noticing that when I want to delete automation completely from an EDL it seems that Pyramix always leaves what I think are the group fader moves - you can see them still on the EDL. It will delete automation for individual tracks b...

Re: Fader sensitivity with mouse
Thanks, Frank. I knew about using the arrows and this is a good suggestion. But for the kind of mixing I want to do I need to be able to control the speed of the fader move so the arrows, although they are finer, are not very good. Like you, I hope at some point this will be possible. It would be a ...

Fader sensitivity with mouse
I'm wondering whether there has been a discussion about getting the faders on the mixer to be finer in their sensitivity when using a mouse. Right now it seems that 0.3 dB is the smallest increment when using the mouse to move a fader. For me it would be great to have this be more sensitive, say 0.1...

Re: Avoiding keyboard commands going to mixer
Thanks Tim for bringing this up. This has also been bothering me for a very long time. I kept thinking it was my fault for always forgetting to click back to the timeline. So I'm glad that I'm not the only one who has struggled with this. I would love to see this fixed!!!

Re: Click and pops at 88.2 with Fireface 400
I'm replying to myself - I raised the buffer size to 1024 samples in the fireface settings and now 88.2 plays back well. I didn't consider this at first because I was playing back 48 tracks successfully (at 44.1) so I thought surely 2 tracks of 88.2 should also work. But I guess not....

Click and pops at 88.2 with Fireface 400
Hi, I'm using a brand new Asus m70v laptop with a fireface 400 in v 6.0 sp1 native. I use external drives usually connected with USB or sometimes ESATA. In both cases I've been able to playback between 32 and 48 tracks 24 bit at 44.1 without a problem. Just recently I tried to play a stereo 88.2 fil...

Re: 48 track editing and Native
Hi Mark,
Thanks. This is good to know. I'm not sure why it was recorded this way, but in the future I'll stick with interleaved files. Glad to hear you have edited so many tracks succesfully on native.

Re: 48 track editing and Native
Thanks for your response. I'm using a 7200 rpm external drive and the render I did was a single PMF multi-track file (and the original files are also PMF just one file per track). I know that the render plays well so I'm trying to determine whether I need to render all the source material as single ...

48 track editing and Native
Hi, I'm having some problems with a 48 track EDL using native v6 SP1 on a PC laptop with a fireface 400. The audio stalls and sputters when playing back. I've tried increasing the buffer and tried using a different laptop and still the same thing happens. If I render a section that has been edited, ...

MP3 playback problems
Hi, I just made an MP3 using the MP3 handler - I'm running v6 SP1 on native - and I notice that when I place it up onto a timeline it sputters and drops out during playback. The original 16 bit 44.1 audio (on the same EDL right next to it) plays without a problem. I tried making the MP3 as a render ...

Vista with Native 6.0 on a laptop
Most of the Pyramix users I know are using XP with their native systems and I'm wondering whether there are any disadvantages with using native 6.0 with Vista on a PC laptop. I know 6.0 and 6.0 SP1 have been certified for use with Vista, but I'd like to know anyone's experience with this. It's getti...

Hi Larry,
That's great to know. Do you need to disable WiFi or Bluetooth in order for the FF to work properly?

I'm responding to my own posting. I just found some excellent info on the RME forum for anyone who is interested in this issue.

Macbook Pro with RME FF400
I've been reading about problems with the RME FF400 and Macbook Pro running XP and it seems there is a lot of confusion about what is causing the problem. It seems for some people it works and for others it doesn't. Does anyone have any recent info about this? I am a Pyramix native user (v5.1) and u...

24 bit I/O with Native
With versions before 5 there was an issue with Native being able to record and send 24 bits - this was confirmed by a tech support person in Switzerland. Of course you could load and send 24 bits via firewire or DVD drive but that's it. I believe monitoring was limited to 16 bits as well. Has this i...
