Has anyone used Altiverb in surround with PMX

Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone has used Altiverb with Pyramix (Masscore) and if so what their experiences were?

Cheers,

Richard.

Hello, A popular location for music gigs at the moment is St. Lukes in Islington. It's a deconsicrated church. Sounds and looks good. Room behind it to park a recording truck, for instance. If you need more information, contact me directly - richard@2ndsense.co.uk I can put you in touch with booking...

Hi Charoo, and welcome to the forums (and Happy New Year!) I'll try and answer some of your questions - and I'll try to be brief here, as I feel your questions probably need more detailed answers, which are perhaps your local reseller can help with? 1. I'm not sure what you're asking here. Yes, PMX ...

Using the HUI control mode, the play transport button works fine on my Pyramix. I'll try and have a look at the settings I use tomorrow when I'm in the studio. It should "just work" fairly easily though... And remember that when on a remote layer, the left and right cursor keys zoom in and...

Hello Diverse, I don't know how Sadie handles this, I'm afraid, but there is part of me that feels like you're asking too broad a question here. There are plenty of free widgets (web based, mac desktop, I'm sure there are some PC things) that will tell you how much disk space is required for "x...

... I tend to create a couple of return paths with tracks and strips to allow sub-mixing in this way. I then put clips of silence on these tracks (if I don't need to record the subs), so that the automation has something to glue to should you do any edits. To monitor I have the tracks in e-to-e mode...

We use DM2000's here with all our Pyramix's and are very happy with them.

We're remote mixing all of our projects now - it works really well.

Best wishes,

Richard.

P.S: I'm not sure the joystick works to allow you to remotely pan stuff in Pyramix, however.

Following the ESATA external drive thread, I've bought a couple of Wiebetech Siver SATA enclosures, which are great. A RAID array over two SATA drives in removable trays, with USB and ESATA connectivity. We've just done a 48 track remix at 48K off one of these with no problems at all. And the great ...

Hello, It works for me (with CD's that are likely to be in the database of course!) I find that if I select all tracks before hitting query database, that helps. Not sure if you have to do this, but I always have! My logic: The database works by matching up the sequence of tracks and their trackleng...

I'm afraid I 2nd Nick's opinion.

Indeed, I'd like to add that I'd like missing clips to be clearly shown (by colour) in the overview so that you can see there if any clips are missing their media.

Hi John, It is a shame that you seem to have such a frustrating start with Pyramix - as everything you are trying to achieve is well within its capabilities, and shouldn't pose any problems at all. I suspect that the route of your problems are the fact that you are running Pyramix in "evaluatio...

AAFs again

Hello all, I've just worked on a lengthy project where the editor experimented exporting an AAF of the session. To my shock, it worked fine! The only thing that was "missing" was any envelope information. I might be wrong on this point, but I thought one of the advantages of the AAF format...

...oh and another method that might work. Import your OMF into a 44.1K session. In the media manager, select all the media and do a quick convert to get the media SRC'd up to 48K (or consolidate to another media folder) Make sure all the 48K media is in another folder (one way or another) and then f...

Hello, The paste to cursor with original media method won't necessarily work, as the media from an OMF will typcially have handles. If you paste the "raw" media in place of a cue, you will be pasting from the start of the handle, not where the clip should be. You could of course drag the m...
