Apple's SRC has two modes - one of them is really high quality, you can download src applet from apple site http://www.apple.com/itunes/mastered-for-itunes/ and check. Re: Error checks
x8 - x16 is optimal for today's media. Lower speed give you more errors, because media not optimized for slow speed, High speed will give you more errors because CAV change to CLV. some pictures http://lh5.ggpht.com/_YWLrbgOSwxA/TOaxVYIx5UI/AAAAAAAAA8o/1tcT9h05YPI/s800/x16-3.jpg http://lh5.ggpht.com...

Re: Error checks
In theory, BLER must be less than 220, but in practice on today's blanks it's 10-15 in peaks. BERL must be not more than 7, and zero E32. You can see red lines with possible maximum on graphics.

Material dependent... Sometimes TPDF better. And I prefer old pyramix "acoustic" most of the time for pop and rock. Just IMO.

Re: Dither
The only thing is the mixdown is very slow with version 4 of Ozone, at least on my mass-core system. It's somewhat faster with version 3 though... Workaround - mixdown CD to one long 32-bit BWF file, open it with any program that has MegaBit option (I use IzotopeRX), make conversion to 16 and re-op...
