Re: Which version to replace Wavelab or Sequoia
Agreed. Pyramix has always been the best fit for the kinds of audio productions I was doing, and the abilities it provides, especially when compared to Pro Tools made it a no brainer. I love the S-D editing as it allows you to do truly seamless assemblies. Having real-time format and sample rate con...

Re: Which version to replace Wavelab or Sequoia
I first used Pyramix during the '90s when I was resident at the Banff Centre. Since 2006, when I first got my own system, I've used nothing but Bootcamped Macs with Windows (NT, then 7 and now 10) with an RME interface which connects via Firewire (ASIO). I always followed the Windows configuration g...

Re: Which version to replace Wavelab or Sequoia
The "Elements" version looks like it is really stripped down, and is missing a lot of the features that your student was talking about. With the "Pro" version, you get Source-Destination editing (an essential for my needs), native plug-ins, format converters, multi-channel output...

Re: Restoring old Pyramix Project
The first thing would be to go to the settings to see what the default folders are for loading projects. You might want to add the Media Files folder for your specific project to make it easier for Pyramix to find the files. Alternatively, when you've loaded your project file with its missing media,...

Re: "Play From Selection"
You can use the "Nudge Cursor to Next (or Previous) Clip" controls in the Cursor and Marks menu, to jump the cursor to the next/previous clip boundary. These controls have buttons that can be installed in one of the Toolbars in the main window. I typically have the buttons for Previous/Nex...

Re: main Fader Automation curve
You can display the Mixer Bus Automation on any Track. Take a look in the Manual around page 440 or so, depending on your version. Do a search for "Select Displayed Automation Track" for more information about how to set this up. The terminology can be a little confusing in that you have M...

Re: Problem with Monitor
Have you checked the Routing page in the Pyramix Mixer?
It seems odd that you get buzz from a DAW, and it's more likely to be an input from somewhere being (mis-)routed into your monitor mix.

Re: How to do it multitracking in Nuendo( Cubase) via the Mykerinos drivers?
"Rebuild the mixer" refers to how the Pyramix Mixer functions, where you can add output busses in Mono, Stereo and Multichannel. As you are using Nuendo, you must find a similar function there, and I'm afraid I have no experience with the program. Is Nuendo capable of having multi-channel ...

Re: Happy New Year!
Yes, it's a shame this has become a ghost town (complete with wind, dust and blowing tumbleweed) since the establishment of the online Pyramix Knowledge Base. Once upon a time, this was a pretty distinguished and helpful group of users... That said, I still check in here, albeit infrequently, and us...

Re: Project Settings
You should be fine with creating a new "Media Files" folder and moving your files to it, and then entering its location in the Pyramix Settings. When Pyramix can't find them in the original location, all you have to do is "Mount" the new location in the Media Manager. Your editin...

Re: recovering a file where the plug was pulled?
I'll reply here rather than by email so that others who may be in need in the future can benefit. VERY IMPORTANT: Make and work on a copy of the affected file, just in case. You need to get a copy of the Pyramix Media Recovery Tool. The latest version I have is 3.0, but there may very well be more r...

Re: External Talkback Switch options for Anubis
I've had a UMI3 from Logidy for years, which is basically a USB connected MIDI controller with three push-button switches that can be configured with the provided software to be momentary, or latching on and off with your selected MIDI command codes for when each button is depressed and/or released....

Re: suitable minimal laptop for Pyramix Pro (Anubis/DSD)
Thanks for your update, and I'm glad you found a suitable machine. If you are planning to use the Native version, or non-native, but without MassCore, you need more speed than cores, as Pyramix without MassCore runs on a single processor. I'm thinking that might explain the recommendation for an i5 ...

Re: suitable minimal laptop for Pyramix Pro (Anubis/DSD)
An excellent question made more essential with the demise of Bootcamp. I'd certainly be interested in what you learn. However, this forum no longer gets much traffic, so I'd recommend that you check out the Pyramix Knowledge Base. Here's a good place to start: https://merging.atlassian.net/wiki/sear...
